Content Creation
Calamity has been creating content on Twitch and YouTube since June of 2020. After being laid-off due to the pandemic, they took the free time to start building their own career in content creation and game development.
For the past three years, Calamity has built a career around live streaming, Let's Plays, tabletop performance, and narrative design/writing. Her drive for creating is to encourage creativity and exploration in others, and provide a safe space for neurodiverse and other marginalized communities to come together and share common interests.Full media sheet can be found here!
Performance
As a former theatre kid, getting into TTRPGs for the first time in early 2021 was a turning point in Calamity's creative life and personal career.
She found that actual plays allowed her to explore performance in a way she never could in the theatre world. Bring a Black femme, there were few roles that they "fit", and even fewer opportunities to play characters and tell stories that they were passionate about.Now, Calamity brings their unique experiences and 10 years of classic vocal training to various tables and voice performance roles.
Writing & Narrative Design
Calamity has always been a lover of story in all forms - books, video games, movies, music, comics, whatever she could get her hands on.
Today, they are a freelance narrative designer and writer. For the past three years, Calamity has been involved in dialogue creation, branching narrative, worldbuilding, lore creation, and more for video games & TTRPGs. More recently, she has worked as a writer for the diverse TTRPG funded on Kickstarter in 24hr Emerald Templars, Eldritch Automata, and upcoming Cowboy Bebop inspired visual novel game Bitter Silver. They are also working on developing their own visual novels through Ren'Py, which will release in late 2025.You can view a sample of their previous writing and narrative work here.
Production & Dramaturgy
Calamity's passion for "making stories happen" doesn't just occur in front of the camera as a performer.In college, they studied directing, theatre, and assistant stage management at community theatres - and have worked backstage for various stage shows. They also spent five months running a comedy show recorded in front of a live studio audience at a local cafe in Orlando in 2016.She is currently the founder, creative producer, and dramaturg of tabletop production group Taletell Hearts. With a drive to facilitate and celebrate diverse stories in actual play, Calamity created Taletell to be a space those stories can be shared and told.You can see some examples of her work here.
